Commentary|Casino Fuel Pawnshop's Growth

Pawnshops side by side in Singapore

Is the loan shark or the legalized form, called the pay-day-loan shops in UK, any different from the pawnshop? Here in Malaysia we scorned on both. No matter how the media attempts change the public's opinion, I believe Malaysian will still think that both the pawnshop and the pay-day-loan firm will be ranked as low as the scumbag. It is good that XingCai manage to use recent news to expose them. Look at the picture on the right. Since it is only in our neighborhood we know that they are noting but scum.

Commentary | Casinos Are Spoilsport

casino max bet

Ben Affleck had history of card counting. Dana White gets branded as one. William Hill ban for reasons unknown. Advantage players are a great threat to casino.

All the time we suspected that the casino is kiasu but can't prove it. Kiasu literally means "fear of losing". The context is usually used when someone chickens out on a wager. Now three cases within a month are good enough to show that the casino is "kiasu".

Using casino kiasu (cowardice) as an appendix to Tip 10 of SavySeph's 36 Casino Gambling Tips is great! I thought this website would be inactive once all tips had been revealed. I guess it will see some activities with news to supplement the tips.

Actually, I do have a supplementary page for SavySeph's 36 Casino Gambling Tips. I will cover it in my coming blog.

SavySeph not only show casino's kiasu but also their spoilsport attitude on Her Webpage.

Commentary | Unshuffled Cards Used at Casinos

I thought using unshuffled cards would be a party for gamblers. I never thought such things existed but there were two cases for the past 3 years. It is just like betting on tie for baccarat. The event will not come for a long time but when it come you get a few more occurrences.

This sounds like a fun time for the dragon raiders especially for those who spotted the card sequence. It was like 41 wins in a row for the last case.

Golden Nugget Unshuffled Card Game.

As with most parties, there is always a party pooper. The court ruling was way out of line. If this were to happen in Malaysia, most of us will cry - CORRUPTION! XingCai had a few interesting critique.

Commentary|Soccer Bookies Recruits Students as Junkets

FIFA 2014 logo.

The lion share of the gaming and wagering industry is dominated by the sports betting segment. As the FIFA kicks off this Friday, bookies continued to recruit students as their junkets. XingCai covered two cases of bookmakers roping students as agents in Malaysia and Thailand. I had given her some background about Malaysia to help her in covering the Malaysian case.

Football fever is here. The bookies must have recruited agents like crazy. These agents are now spamming our forum with links to betting sites. Soon the thread will be talking football. I look forward to tips and comments from decembergod. His unorthodox choice is always entertaining. The best part is most of his choices were winners.

As you guys know, I don't bet ball because I don't even watch football. Without any knowledge of the team, it is hard to make a reasonable bet. To some extent, I will not get the overconfidence syndrome most sports bettors do. My advice is to watch it when you place your bets with a lion's heart.

Pay attention also to the American Psychiatric Association's guidelines. Once you go overboard there is no turning back unless you are willing to let whysee (our rehab guy) help you.

XingCai's article is very timely for this FIFA World Cup season. She looked at traps sport bettors fell into for the past season and I was able to highlight two of the pitfalls above. More on XingCai's Webpage.

Commentary|Ban on Advantage Players Abused

William Hill Bans Gambler

In my previous blog, I foresee that gambling operators will weed out the winners because it is a good policy to reduce exposure to high risk elements.

I am impressed with XingCai's ability to see that casino's cowardice is part and parcel of the industry's business operation.

Following this line of thought, XingCai examine the impact of this policy should it be practiced across the board. Her conclusions were remarkable.

Baccarat Has Higher Casino Profitability

SavySeph used casino profitability to prove that baccarat does not need to rely on Chinese's fascination to be a hot favorite for gamblers. Instead of using profit statistics to account for baccarat popularity, she studied the nature of the game as a basis to predict that casinos will be dominated by baccarat tables. It should be noted that SavySeph published this webpage on 30 Aug 2013.

On 14 Nov 2014, the Investors.com reported that top casinos in Vegas had switch to baccarat because it was more lucrative than jackpot or poker.

Screen Capture of Investor.com Report

Was it SavySeph uncanny prediction abilities, as I mentioned in my last blog? Perhaps the casinos were secretly taking SavySeph's advice. While the casinos may take the cue form SavySeph and be quiet about it, I think it is time to give credit when it is due. Please tweet, g+ and fb-like to share the webpage. I appended the buttons for that page below.

Okay, the next question will be, "Did SavySeph had clairvoyant abilities?" I guess, I will be pondering about it for some time.

Emerging Trend to Ban Advantage Players from Gambling

With Phil Ivey doing edge sorting and Ben Affleck doing card counting, advantage players were getting noticed. These players make us think of God of Gambler's main character who keeps winning. As gamblers we will be inspired when flesh and blood comes close to a fictional character from the movies. Both Ivey and Affleck had forked in a hefty sum in their latest breaking news stories.

Portrait of Ivey & Affleck

The laws protect gamblers but ensuring they get a fair game from the casino. "The law also serves to protect the casinos from being victimized by advantage players. It allowed casinos the right to show advantage players the door. ~ SavySeph" I am amazed that another two organizations had been exercising this right recently.

Dana White, the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), was given the boot by Palms Resort & Casino. White told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on 1 June 2014 that he "beat them for (nearly $2 million), and they asked me not to play anymore." The casino actually reduced his limit from $25,000 a hand to $5,000. For White, this is as good as showing him the door.

In a separate incident, William Hill bookmakers banned John Harrison, 56, of Canfield Road, Brighton from their betting shops across the country. The letter from William Hill stated that the firm "no longer wishes to accept" Mr Harrison's bets following a "review of trading arrangements", the Argus reported on 2 June 2014. The bookmaker even had the cheek to include "in the event that you succeed in gambling with us, we reserve the right to make any such bet void." in their letter.

I can't help but wonder if SavySeph's webpage began the trend of banning advantage players. This is not the first time she pulled such a feat off. Regardless of her degree of influence on gambling companies, the webpage (published on 9 May 2014) had created awareness on the rights of the casinos and coincidentally two gambling companies practiced it within a month. I think the pages deserved a tweet, g+ and fb-like so that it could be shared. I appended the buttons for that page below.

I also had an inclination to think that it could be one of SavySpeh's latent predictions. After all she covered using intuition and clairvoyant to gamble. She also recommended the use of meditation to control gambling emotions. These paint a mystical impression among her readers. I will cover the first time she pulled a similar feat off in my next blog. For now I will go with the prediction that casinos will abuse their privilege of denying advantage players.
