Commentary|Dont Use Trend and Probability Blindly

trend don’t last Link to Savy Seph’s Fourth Tip

Smarty pants gambler that they are safe by using probability to gamble. If they know probability they will know it can’t be use to forecast the next event and they most certainly will not gamble as the odds will always be against them

Trend reading is another area that gamblers think requires skill. The Wizard of Odds (Micheal Shakleford) calls trend reading a form of superstitious. Although trend reading is derived from statistic but the gambling math expert do not regard it highly.

Distribution is the other topic that we had discussed at great length in the forum. Dragon (streak) raiders are believers of highly skewed distribution, while dragon slayers usually get caught by bucking the trend in baccarat. Sometimes even roulette can do a red or black dragon but we refuse to believe it. It is all in the math class that we did not pay attention to.

Commentary|Greedy Gamblers

greed keep you in the casino Link to Savy Seph’s Third Tip

Greediness is the main factor for gamblers being held back at casino when they are winning. We know of the countless number of times when we do not know how to run away in order to keep the winning had lead to losses. We had always blame our greed as the main culprit when this happens.

Conversely we lose more if we do not leave after having out bankroll wiped out. Many gamblers fall in this trap therefore we set this as one of our Golden Rule in the Way of the Guerrilla. We know that this is because we are not happy with our losses. We want to get even so we take out more money. What causes this intention is explored by Savy Seph.

Commentary | Casino Marks You

caught hook line and sinker Link to Savy Seph’s Second Tip

Watching others get caught like a fish is a good laugh. Some times we have tendencies to laugh at others misfortune. We know that it is not funny but we do it anyway. Yet, when we fall into these misfortunes we do not feel silly or are aware that we are being laughed at because it is not funny.

Suckers are born every minute. Savy Seph’s webpage show how the casino uses psychology to trap a gambler. She also exposes marketing gimmicks use by casino to bait gamblers. Read it and be aware of them so that you will not be caught hook, line and sinker.

Commentary | Genting Lose Face

Genting comes under a different fire this time with the Ivey versus Genting case currently ongoing. It will take Genting a lot of resilience to weather through this storm. As +SavySeph puts it on her webpage, it is also going to cost them a lot to gain back public confidence should they fail to win this case. Leave that to our regular punters’ gossip and this case will be blown out of proportion. I believe Malaysian confidence is already out of the window irregardless of the outcome of this case. As faceless would say, “follow me take a bus uphill and you will hear all kinds of gossips”. A name or brand that took decades to build now sweeps the floor the floor with humiliation.

Genting’s Logo

I managed to catch +XingCai Zhang’s blog before releasing this blog. This give me the opportunity to draw some points from her latest blog. She used simple math to put forth a strong argument. Having a net win of 55 times over two days period is not uncommon for a person on a lucky streak. Genting had seen several cases where punters made in excess of RM10,000 while being drawn down to less than RM100 balance out of sheer luck. Such big killing when they do happen usually find its way to the gossip session in the bus ride uphill. Did the crew in London over reacted because the figures had come to millions?

I had to agree with XingCai, that our Kuala Lumpur (KL) experts found nothing to conclusively nail Ivey. It won’t take long for experts to detect scams. These guys will be fair by staying to the facts and not simply jump into the wrong conclusions. The damage however was already done. I see the lack of finesse in handling this matter. The London side could have stalled for time and await experts here in KL to fly over to do a thorough investigation. Instead they told Ivey to his face that he cheated. A person of Ivy’s reputation would certainly boil and thus resulted in this lawsuit. It’s a pity for Genting to had fought so many decades to have their name sweep the floor just because of over reaction and lack of diplomacy.

Commentary | Savy Seph's Tip1

Link to Savy Seph's First Tip

I like this approach +savy seph. It is very academic. Convincing people that skill can be trained is a standard approach in most basic financial market trading books. I had applied trading techniques in casino gambling and I think your stuff rocks! I will strongly vouch for it.

Trading books, however, do not cover the luck element. Relying on luck in trading is suicidal but it is equally important to skill in casino gambling. Way to go +savy seph!

Commentary | Genting's Bad Call

Ivey Won £7.8millon Casino Chips

Refer to gamblingkings.com’s News and XingCai Zhang’s Blog.

Make a trip to Genting to win millions in casino chips because that is what you will get if you win large sum of money. They can just simply accuse you of cheating and that is the end of the story. This is certainly not the Genting that we Malaysian know. We hear of people getting caught for cheating being banned, blacklisted in casinos worldwide and reported to the police. This is the first time I hear a cheater gets off the hook and file a writ in retaliation.

Wrong Call

On August 20-21 last year, poker star Phil Ivey won £7.8millon in a baccarat game at Crockfords, which is part of the Genting Group but was denied payment. I love how +xingcai zhang’s quoted two of our blogs to prove Genting’s bad call on this issue. Citing “illegal acts” to justify their decision is making a total laughing stock out of themselves. I can’t help but wonder if their lawyers know the difference between committing “illegal acts” and in violation of “house rules”. Well, as we know all along Genting hire humans with pig brains to do the job.

KL Investigators

Base on gamblingkingz.com, Ivey has been recorded to be the world's sixth highest earner in Punto Banco tournaments, amassing a £9 million fortune in payouts from this game alone. This guy can be considered on par with the hero in the “God of Gamblers” movie. Why, Genting chose to pick on this guy? Genting flew in experts from Kuala Lumpur to investigate this case. Most likely they can’t find any conclusive evidence of cheating or they will hammer the shit out of Ivey.

Commentaries | 6 Gambling Myths

I believe +savy seph first six set of tips is attempting to iron out the fallacies on (her webpage). Gamblers are a very superstitious group of people. They can blame anything under the sun when they are losing money. Myths, superstitions, or fallacies are words that describe the same thing. We had done 3 blogs on gamblers tendency to shift the blame.

Superstitions are slowly gather and also slowly discarded. The blame dealer and black magic are the most common for gamblers in Genting. That faster we come to grips with it the better or it will add on to the frustration at the table.

These are SavySeph's myths to dispel.

  • Is casino luck or skill?
  • Casino marks winners.
  • Its easy to leave the casino.
  • Use of probability and trend should be wise.
  • High drawdown eventually wins.
  • Casino cheats to win.

Commentaries|36 Tips against 5 Guerrilla Ways

Commenting on a blog on about the Casino in Toronto, I was surprise to see the blogger (+savy seph) had 36 Casino Gambling Tips to offer. On the surface of it, the blog appeared to carry a voice against the setting up of the Casino in Toronto. I later realize in the subsequent blog that it was an entrée to the real deal. Casino gambling tips is the main theme of the blog pages. With a website set up for it, this was either well planned or getting a lucky break for right timing as the resort class casino is a big issue in Toronto news today.

I am greatly humbled by this as our GGC only offered 5 Principles in the Way of the Guerrilla to the gambling table. I am sure I can find a least one tip out of the 36 tips to be adopted into the Way of the Guerrilla. It will be with Savy Seph’s permission of course. I will be keeping an eye on this since all the tips are not published yet. The indication are as follows:

    • The first six deals with myths in gambling. These myths had to be dispelled so that the gambler will not be disillusioned by them.
    • The second six covers tactics used by the casino to gain an advantage over its patron. Knowing their game plan will help you be better prepared.
    • The third six outlines the emotions prior to laying down each bet. It covers unhelpful predicament that usually leads to poor judgment.
    • After dealing with the negatives, the next set of six tips list out your armaments so that you know them and can put them to good use.
    • The next six are the most lethal habits which gamblers will acquire in the course of gambling. It highlight how these habits surface to alert gamblers about these pitfalls.
    • The last set of six deals with customs worth keeping. Adopt then with strict discipline.

I am impressed with the 6 tips for each 6 categories. This reminds me of the Chinese’s 36 Strategies which were initially applied in war but could be applied to life in general. I could not help but wonder how much of the 36 Strategies were applied into casino gambling. The first strategy, deceiving the heavens to the cross the sea 瞒天过海, most definitely could not be applied. Anyway, I wish Savy Seph Godspeed in bringing out the 36 Casino Gambling Tips.

    Dealers Tales | Elite Dealers

Here is the confession from a dealer that roulette croupiers can control which area they want the ball to land. Pit bosses are supposed to monitor that there is no foul play so that every spins is random or if there are any possibilities of collaboration with gamblers.

... if you want more surety, study how fast the croupier spins the ball and the speed of the wheel. The result is different for different wheels and different ball sizes. I don't know about other casinos around the world but I'd think Genting is the place where the wheel speed is not really monitored as you can see some croupiers with fast wheel and some with awfully slow wheel. The trick is to bet after the ball is spun, so you've got to be quick.

This is easier said than done. I believe this dealer had tried to do this many times but failed. While they have dealers who can spin a desired zone, we have gamblers who can tell where the ball will land. Let me use some lowyat forum id here. Pinkie finally decided to learn the wheel from faceless. On their first meeting, Pinkie was so impress because faceless could tell which zone the ball could land the moment the ball was launched. As I know the story, faceless got it right 10 out of 10 ten times. Yet faceless is not honored in GGC Hall of Fame.

There are a few reasons to it. If faceless could win money with that skill he is already godlike and thus more than qualify for the Hall of Fame. For Pinkie it was right after the ball was launched. Reading the forum on this subject, faceless said it would had taken him up to 3 seconds to study the speed of ball and wheel to come up with some form of bet selection. The call to seize betting could be made as fast as 5 seconds after the ball was launched. Two seconds is just not enough time to cover the table.

As for those who said that roulette cannot be manipulated, I worked there for 4 months and I found out I could really manipulate which area the ball will drop. For the 4 months there, no action was taken against me. My friend told me he saw some china croupier who could actually be extremely accurate that he could get the number he wanted; I think this is for the wheel with the square brackets. For the Scalloped wheel, the ball would really move a lot so it's really hard to get the area you want. As for the diamond studded objects or any other obstacles on the wheel, there's is a way to overcome it by spinning the ball at a specific point and the ball would just drop into the slot without hitting them. The problem lies in that the more obstacles a wheel has, the harder it gets.

A good dealer can collaborate with customers to make money. That I do not doubt. A gambler who desire to master the skill faceless had may not necessary win money. The split second computation we see in gambling movies is just for inspirational purpose. If such people do exist we should be learning from them. Right now taking it from the best man we had on the subject, we know that it is not possible.

I can't say that my actions were not noticed by my pit boss. I was just having fun and not collaborating with customers. Dealing roulette is extremely boring as it's only about payouts. Most of the time, the bets are small and standing for 8 hours working like a robot really sucks. My pit boss made inquiries on my dealings but no action was taken. Well ... I think most pit boss don’t really care.

Post#453 on Mar 4 2008, 04:58 PM at lowyat forum

All it takes is working at it for 4 months and you can have control of where the ball should land. If they are serious about it they would be an expert in one year. Faceless said it took him one month (8 hours daily) to acquired his skill. The two best options now are to train up on reading where the ball will land or find a good dealer to collaborate with.
